can not restore

my daughter accidently restored my gateway NE56R and I can not do any thing with it, I get the black gateway screen and no function keys work

Restored how? Did a Factory Restore or something else? A factory restore should just setup the system like it was new, with Windows installed. Is it stuck at the BIOS screen? No error messages?
