Can smartphones play on a monitor

Hello,
can a smartphone be connected to a monitor in order to play video, audio, text and photographs.

You can connect it to your computer via USB, and then load the media from there?

though as spykerwolf suggested, using the phone as a disk drive and loading the media through windows/other os would be the easiest and most painfree way to go about it.

I know that certain phones are able to connect to tvs etc via usb, such as:

The sensation can stream wirelessly so you can watch films on pc etc, but just for ease of use etc i would go with what spykerwolf suggests, and mount your phone to a pc and transfer whatever you want.

there are many phones that can connect via hdmi...and other that can connect via composite cable....and others that uses wifi for DLNA( require a tv with wifi)
