Hello I have a HP Pavilion i was watching YouTube and when I plugged in my earphones the laptop shut off I tried to recharge it and it was showing a flashing orange light for a while then after sitting it aside for more charging there was no light. So I thought it was the battery so I got a new one. Now it's showing a white light on the side next to the ac charger but my laptop will still not turn on. Than I tried to reboot buy taking out the battery and holding the power button for 15 seconds then putting it back in but that still didn't work. What r ur suggestions?

Hi,

Something might have shorted inside the laptop when the headphone was connected in it. Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by doing a hard reset again, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then boot it back up.
- If it doesn't boot up try to boot the laptop without its battery and with just its AC adapter.
- Next is to reseat the RAM's, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly into each slot.
- Do also test the AC adapter or try another AC adapter that has the same voltage with yours.
- If all these will not work then the problem lies in the motherboard already.
