Why no RUSH..Countdown

Lit up with anticipation
We arrive at the launching site
The sky is still dark, nearing dawn
On the Florida coastline

Circling choppers slash the night
With roving searchlight beams
This magic day when super-science
Mingles with the bright stuff of dreams

Floodlit in the hazy distance
The star of this unearthly show
Venting vapours, like the breath
Of a sleeping white dragon

Crackling speakers, voices tense
Resume the final count
All systems check, T minus nine
As the sun and the drama start to mount

The air is charged
A humid, motionless mass
The crowds and the cameras,
The cars full of spectators pass
Excitement so thick you could cut it with a knife
Technology...high, on the leading edge of life

The earth beneath us starts to tremble
With the spreading of a low black cloud
A thunderous roar shakes the air
Like the whole world exploding

Scorching blast of golden fire
As it slowly leaves the ground
Tears away with a mighty force
The air is shattered by the awesome sound

Like a pillar of cloud
The smoke lingers high in the air
In fascination
With the eyes of the world
We stare...

If I had done this I would of used Helium which can be freely obtained by electrolyzing water and would have enabled the balloon to go higher. Any fire risk would be minimal.

This sounds like a lot of fun, and is way cool.

This is the kind of thing kids should be doing in school. I think it would certainly make school significantly more interesting.

[citation][nom]ojas[/nom]Oh and, at 1:02, what's that spec in the background, over the horizon? The moon? I'm downloading the 1080p version to check![/citation]
I think it is the moon...

so if they had hit a plane.. is that terrorism?... with last names like that, just asking for trouble... lucky it was in canada because in the usa the faa probably would have arrested them for not filing a flight plan.

They should launch space tourism company for toys. I'd gladly pay $100 to send my Ed Harris action figure into space and have a video of it. Anyone want to do a startup?

[citation][nom]dribblesbarbax[/nom]Totally fake! The flag isn't even moving.[/citation]
[citation][nom]blazorthon[/nom]How does putting your nation's flag on your Lego man kill this? This teenagers are from Canada so they put a Canadian flag in their project and I fail to understand why that's a problem.[/citation]
Dude, you're either blind or you missed physics class. It's quite obvious from the various shadows that it's real. You can see the legoman go into shadow as the balloon comes between it and the sun. You can even see the moment the balloon bursts (those little streamers of white, the legoman goes upside down). Give these kids some credit. Go back to explaining how George Bush bombed the World Trade Center.

Someone must have one of those expensive public education diplomas.

I'm assuming the person who said it's fake because the flag isn't moving was joking because that's one of the reasons conspiracy theorists give for the moon landing being fake, and that no one here got the joke.

This is the funniest video I've seen in a long time.

p.s. The lego man in the Whitehouse is still in office. Send him up.
