Cannot get into my old Gmail account and i reset my Samsung phone that was synced to that account! What do i do?

I accidentally factory reset my Samsung Phone that was synced to an account that I cannot access anymore! Plus it's been so long since I've had the phone on that I had forgotten the password to that account. What can I do to get the phone unlocked without having to pay?
