Cannot type with any keyboard on GL553VD Asus laptop

This just happened today. I turned on my laptop and I cannot use any key other than the power button. I also connected an external keyboard but it only works in BIOS.
I tried turning the computer on and off and uninstalling the keyboard drivers. If you have any other solution please do share

When you uninstalled the driver(s), did you reboot (turn off and back on) the computer before reinstalling the drivers?
