Can't adjust screen brightness (laptop)

I've had my laptop for a little under a year. I've never had a problem adjusting the screen brightness before, but recently nothing I try works (Fn keys, control panel, etc) How can I fix this?

Laptop: Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series
OS: Windows 10

I'm assuming you are running win8 or 10 so try holding shift down while you click on ShutDown. See if the problem is fixed when you power it back on.
