Solved! Can't alter screen brightness of laptop without graphics driver installed.

Hi, i am using an Acer E5-511 laptop which has the most basic config: 500GB HDD, 2GB RAM, and integrated INtel HD graphics.

the problem is that without the graphics driver installed, i can't alter the brightness. neither 3rd party apps, nor the native slider is helping.

with the driver installed the pc is running very slow (even though recently formatted)

is their any solutions for this?

I think the RAM is insufficient to do very much these days.

Take the 2GB out and search eBay or similar to find a higher grade but exactly the specification printed on your stick(s).

Hey. Thanks for the reply. Do you really think swapping RAM sticks would help with SCREEN BRIGHTNESS?

Worth a try and it fixes a lot of other problems in my shop.
