Can't get external speaker to work on my Toshiba LCD

I have a Toshiba 46SL500U LCD tv. It's about 5 years old. Now the problem i'm having is connecting this Logitech speaker i have. I plugged it into the 3.5mm jack on the back of the tv and it won't work. I tried it on my laptop and the speaker does work.

Any ideas how to fix this ? Thanks.

the jack on your tv per the maul is audio in port. the only audio out is the digital audio port. for speakers or sound bars that have digitial audio ports.

Oh i see ok. There is (2) 3.5mm jacks, would they be the same thing input ?

simple answer is yes it will not work. your tv cannot be hooked up to it. sorry
