Can't get into my laptop, typing password causes random numbers and letters so can't even open my pc?

I can't get into my HP laptop when I type my password random letters and numbers appear, I'm locked out what can I do please help?

Have you tried plugging in an external keyboard? Also, depending on which version of Windows you're running, in either the lower lefthand or righthand corner of your login screen should be an icon you can click on which allows options for ease of access. One of the options is to use an on-screen keyboard. Try using that to log in. It might type the correct letters/symbols.
