I have ARC capability on both devices and all cables are connected properly and settings changed accordingly but there is still no sound from TV coming through the external speakers of the home theatre. I've also tried the RCA wires to get mono sound through but still nothing. Very frustrating! Any help please!

Panasonic SC-BTT405 home theatre
LG 42LB5820 TV

Yes using good new thick cable.

Its at the back by the HDMI plug, it says ARC in brackets. there's just the one HDMI(ARC) plug. It works one way but not the other. I've tried 4 different cable now. Panasonic said it should be working. LG haven't replied back yet. Could it be just the Youtube App on the TV not allowing the sound to external speakers?

I looked in the manual and specs online and see nothing about arc. I would take fact that the manual doesn't mention it over it being marked on the back of panel.

And what do mean it works one way and not the other.

You can see the home screen and hear sound from the home theatre but no sound from tv to hone theatre

That's not arc working one way that just HDMI working how it should. I don't think the home theater has arc. Take a pic of the back of the home theater showing arc.

It has arc.

I did find ARC in the home theater manual, I had downloaded the wrong one earlier and see the ARC symbol in the book.

I don't see ARC anywhere on that TV though. It's a rather old TV, still has AV and component inputs and only 2 HDMI. My inlaws have the same TV and it doesn't have ARC.

It's 2014 model. It has arc on the first of the 3 HDMI inputs. Ive changed the settings accordingly...to external speakers on the tv...and arc on the tv input on home theatre.

Hi I'm having a similar problem as ash with my Panasonic BTT405 home cinema system and lg 50lf580v tv. All settings have been turned on that I'm aware of.

Anyone got any ideas, could it be a similar issue?
