Can't get sound bar to work

I bought a rca sound bar and I can't get it to work with rca cables or the optical cable on my tv all I get is static with the

I would suggest connecting the soundbar to another TV or other audio source to see if the problem is in the soundbar and not the TV. If you don't have any other audio sources with analog out use the headphone out of your smartphone or computer.
