I HAVE CHECKED OTHER FORUMS AND NONE HAVE WORKED

Alright. I want to use my Nvidia GeForce GT 740M, but my HP Envy TouchSmart laptop keeps using my integrated graphics card, the Intel HD 4600.

Please keep in mind that I am using an HP Pavilion 27bw monitor for this computer.

I have tried disabling the Intel in device manager, under computer management, with no success. All that happened was that I cannot use my monitor.

I have also tried changing the BIOS settings, but my HP is using the InsydeH20 (3.7) so I cannot access the Advanced Settings.

This is getting very frustrating. I have even changed the performance levels in power and battery settings, with no luck.

Any help at this point is well appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you installed the correct drivers?

Solution

SORRY FOR MISLEADING THIS IS NOT THE SOLUTION

Yes the appropriate divers are installed for both the graphics card and my monitor

Are you sure that the card is compatible with your mobo?

I'd hope so since I bought this as a full computer. I am a noob so tell me if that answer makes no sense
