Can't use CTRL+A combination

First of all, I want to say hello to everyone! I feel happy to be a part of a mature community.

So here goes my problem.

I am using Windows 8, I formatted my pc some days ago. I just noticed now that the combination CTRL+A just doesn't work. They work separately, but they won't work together.

I've tried to search but I just don't get any relevant information, thought I could ask you, guys.

(Also sorry if I posted into the wrong thread, I'm new).

If someone would be able to help me, that'd be MUCH appreciated!
