Can't Use Laptop While Charging

I have a new Acer Aspire with an Intel i5-8250U CPU and it works completely fine but for some reason when the battery's running low and I plug it in, the fans run wild and it starts heating up pretty quickly. When it's not in use however it is completely still and cools off again.This has happened a handful of times and sometimes it even freezes completely and I have to turn it off. I don't have much experience but I checked the CPU speed and up to 90% of it was in use and it was running pretty fast even though I had only one task open. I couldn't find anything similar on the internet so I appreciate your help.

If it is brand new and acting like this, I would have them exchange it for one that isn't problematic. If it is past that return/exchange date, then try contacting the manufacturer as it should be under warranty.

Go to 'Power Options' and edit your 'Plan Settings' .
Also you could run the 'Power Troubleshooting'
Check your manufacturer website for BIOS updates.
