So I've been looking around online and I can't quite seem to find an answer to what I'm trying to do. I'm in a need for a solution for my current situation. I currently have a cheap cyberpower sub and two old home theater speakers that I whipped together whenever the cyberpower satellite speakers died. The home theater speakers aren't hooked up properly (I just spliced a cable and ran it from the speakers to the subwoofer speaker output) so they're starting to cut out more and more, different levels in the two speakers and so on.

Preferably, I would like to keep the home theater speakers because they sound really nice, better than anything under $100 for computer speakers. Plus I like the size, layout, and the subwoofer placement, but I can't seem to find any amps more than 2 channels that aren't expensive and so on.

I also have a pair of component car speakers that I was planning to make boxes for if this all worked out. They're no big, only 5.25" woofers, and I don't need them to be home theater loud considering they're just for my computer. I don't want to go out and buy a power supply to power an external amp and so on. I was hoping to just get a small car amp such as the Boss CE102 or a home amp like the Lepy amp or Kinter MA170 but the problem is I don't know what I'm looking for and I don't want to hack together something with a computer power supply or an xbox 360 power brick. I like doing that stuff but I don't like how messy it looks, I'm looking for a more permanent, clean, solution

So with those two options laid out is there a solution to all of this?

I would suggest that the best solution would be to get an old receiver (stereo or AV). A used one without HDMI won't cost much. Get one with digital inputs if you can. You can get one with direct 5.1 inputs that can connect to your PC for digital surround sound even if the receiver didn't have that.
It will have enough power for any or all your speakers. You should be able to find one on Craigslist or a thrift shop for maybe $50-75 dollars. Make sure to get the remote as you usually need that for setup. More power than a Lepai and likely more powerful too. Don't get one from a HT package.
