How do I get the CD Burner on my Toshiba Satellite C55-B5299 to open and work

Yes it has an CD Burner XP icon

is that just some software you install? You need to check to see if you have a cd burner hardware.

If there is no eject button on what appears to be the cd/dvd tray, it means there is no cd/dvd drive.
