It's a little too late for this warning, my Indonesian friend.

Please consider NOT RESPONDING to this attempted thread. If you must, then
remove can.sun-stroke from the NEWSGROUPS line.

Every month or so, this troll floods 1300 newsgroups (all cross-posted to
can.uucp) with superficially relevant comments. The purpose of to disrupt
can.sun-stroke with off-topic crosspostings. Browse the can.uucp newsgroup for
the "big picture" on this troll.

Like all trolls, he means to annoy and disrupt; like all trolls, the way
to handle him is to IGNORE him. Google groups has already expressed that
they do not police or act on this type of behavior.

And why would they? They're not the official net censor.

Check the headers of the troll's posting ... Google groups is the source.
Google does not police the net, but they _can_ ensure that their posting
service is not abused.

It seems to be working - at least as far as disrupting you.

Since Google is just a user of usenet, they can do exactly as much as
you can do - which is nothing.

Only by content monitoring, which providers don't do.

Only if someone complains about repeated abusive behaviour. The
complainant is required to do all the leg work.
