Since there are so many Marks these days I'm going to go by Beach Bum to
help mix it up a little. :)

Beach Bum should be me...being in San Diego, and all...
But I'm kind of a square...so I'll stick with Mark²

They have beaches west of the Missippi? When I was in California I only saw
desert. ;)

FWIW, my town even has the word Beach in the name. :)

You just weren't in the right part of CA.
Here in San Diego, we have beaches, mountains, deserts, and Mexico...All
within a 45-minute drive (or less). It's about 75 degrees right now (at
1:00PM).
:)
All of the above is why a little shack of a house here costs a fortune.

Yes....And the car registration fees, and the sales taxes, and......but you
are right. San Diego is one of the best places to live climate-wise in the
whole country. (and probably, in the whole world) I "lived" there for 4
years when I was in the Navy, and my sisters were both raised there.
