I got a pair of Steelseries Siberia V2s a few days ago and I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to get a cheap sound card to improve audio quality. I've heard that the onboard motherboard soundcards are pretty good now but surely a discrete one would improve sound quality a little?

Thanks,

EDIT: Preferably from Amazon.ca, as I have Prime.

YES if you are using onboard sound. For added points, break your headphone speakers in by blasting them out (NO DISTORTION) for about 20 hours and THEN listen. Then switch your your XONAR DG amplified sound card and enjoy the difference.

I changed the post cause I realized I only have a free PCI-e x1 slot free, so I'm going to need something different.

Thanks for the tip about breaking them in though. I didn't know you were supposed to do that. Not sure my family would approve of me blasting noises for 20 hours though.

EDIT: I suppose a USB sound card would work too. Are they inferior?

EDIT 2: I'd be willing to spend like $50 maximum. Preferably less.

EDIT 3: This looks like it would suit my needs:

Anything obviously bad about it?
