These are the bookshelf speakers.

They are on sale for $30. Would I just need to buy a cheap amp like this or this? No extra cables needed?

Also, I haven't been able to find many reviews on these, any experience with them?

I've never owned great speakers, but have owned decent $150~ headphones, wanted to try these out!

Your amp listed is a car amp. You would need a significant 12VDC supply to use it. You should look at e-bay or pawn shops for a good home stereo receiver.

The Lepai looks like it is a desktop compatible. I only saw the one link ....

It is 20WPC which is probably OK.

Although you may get better sound quality by finding a good used item at a pawn shop.

Hmm, will it sound better than regular PC speakers still? In the future when I have more savings I can look into a more suitable amp, for now I think I'll be happy with something that works.

I'm also probably going to place them on my desk, like 2-3 feet away from me. Is that a terrible idea?

I looked a little on ebay, couldn't find any in my price range, but thank you! I will keep searching

The jbl speakers are going to be far better quality than any pc speaker set.
Ultimately the quality if the amp is going to matter more than anything.

I thin that as desktop speakers a max of a couple of feet away the little amp will probably do UK...

Alright, will try to arrange things so they're far away enough. One last question, will guitar amps likely work for these speakers? My room mate has some, and maybe I could test them out on his.

Thank you for your help, man!
