I have a virus on my pc which has almost made my pc useless. I can't access any program that requires Internet and when trying to download something off the Internet, chrome and spotify, it doesn't allow me. I've tried removing it but it's still there and is one apparently my virus protection software. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

If you're taking the scanner route, here are a good amount of scans to find your malware:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/tdsskiller
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/hitmanpro/

If still fail:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-rootkit/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/roguekiller/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

Bonuses but not really needed:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/emsisoft-emergency-kit/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/superantispyware/
http://www.herdprotect.com/downloads.aspx

Even if you decide to take your time running...

format is not your first option.hell its not even on the table right now.sorry if i seem cranky, but i get tired of this "plow and pave"approach.if you have nothing you want saved on your hdd,fly at it.if not, please supply a few details such as your operating system, any popup messages, and the symptoms.post this and we try to get rid of your malware.

Windows 7 ultimate, I've used a malware removal software so now all the pop ups have gone, but I'm stuck with a Chinese virus and because of this I can't download anything off the Internet and everytime I try and use spotify or steam it says I'm not connected to the interent or that the firewall is blocking it. I've disabled the firewall and still no luck.

No windows DVD? you are in for the long-haul.

Is you computer stuck in the Chinese language?

Turning off your firewall is not a good idea.

Reason why I'd recommend a format? if you were actually infected I personally could never really 'trust' my computer. You infection sounded somewhat nasty and you mention you have tried to remove it already. I assumed it's a more serious problem and only recommended a re-format, because it's what I would be doing in your situation, a fix would not leave me feeling 'clean'.

Not with me, but I'm being my uncle in a few weeks though I'd rather not wait that long. No it's not stuck in Chinese, but the virus itself is in Chinese so I have no idea what it's called.

start your PC in safe modus with internet ,download malwarebytes and let it scan your PC. it will most probably fix your problem without having to format your PC

A way to format the pc without the disc is to download and install the free Window 10 upgrade offer. Window 10 has the option to reformat the pc clean without needing the disc. You can also get at least a 4 GB usb stick and download Window 7 from Microsoft website and restart your computer with the usb stick still connected to initiate the reformating.. Either option will earse everything so have another spare usb stick to backup everything you want to keep before clean reinstalling windows.

Ok guys I went into safe mode and got malwarebytes, it only found 2 protentially hatmful items which I've removed, but none of them were the virus I was looking for (Chinese one). After rebooting my pc it's come up with GFCustom.dll. Any ideas what this could be and unfortunately spotify still says I have no internet connection though I do

Even if you decide to take your time running all of them to their fullest extent and all of your malware symptoms and presence is gone, there is still a chance that the malware is still very well hidden in your system undetectable stealing information from you.
