Boycott FOXCONN! This storyline just keeps getting worse. Have they not heard of PR? Is Foxconn ran by the Chinese Republic?

I'd be glad to do so, however Foxconn makes just too much stuff. For example, CPU sockets, Eithernet ports, etc are built by Foxconn.

So did they know this was the plan before they went to school? If not, this is forced labour, and a hefty tariff is in order for Foxconn products to discourage this practice.

Ran in China, owned by a citizen of Republic of China (AKA Taiwanese). Taiwanese business owners in China have a reputation of being the most cruel/tightass bosses than you can possibly work for. Sadly, there is a ring of truth to this stereotype as seen here in the case of foxconn

ok..I'm not usually a very political guy and if i do weigh in im branded a socialist but have to say this is the exact reason why communism will never work. China will fall just like the USSR did.

That's why Chinese people never liked Taiwanese people; they're complete monsters.

I think that China is much more the problem than Foxconn; Foxconn is just the most visible current example, and not a lot is visible in China

It could have just said "Internship required", thus making it not forced labour. They didn't have to specify WHERE the internship would be, and internships are normal, so it wouldn't be totally out of place.

But hey, jobs for 300,000 people. I bet a good deal of them will be grateful... At first.

The Chinese now will live with it, when their children get into their teens though, enough will be enough and Blood will flow.

I wonder of the 100,000 will come back from their internship... or how many will be smart/ courageous enough to revolt!

To article:
So this story really isn't Foxconn's fault other than accepting labor, huh? You might want to blame the government on this one, since it seems to be totally cool by Chinese politicians to increase business in a rural area by enslaving the local youth. Foxconn isn't making the Chinese government enslave people. They don't have armed soldiers to send to collect the "new workers". If these people don't want to be treated like slaves, they might want to look into some better leaders.

To comments:
If the Chinese don't like Taiwanese, you could always not incorporate yourselves with them. You could probably let those pesky Tibetans free too, always on fire and generally disagreeable as they are.

Then so too will america since China holds most of Americas Debts. Unfortunately the opposite is more likely to happen and is evident in Chinas growth, China through "Communism" doesn't have the welfare or equality attitude that Western countries have. Ultimately it can do what ever it wants to exploit people to help their economy grow. BTW the EU is very communist in its ideals and approach to things.

saying china holds most of US debt is a over simplification. China is using the same tactics that the american south used to fuel the growth. Slaves revolt, and when they do China will be back to where it was a few decades ago, pushing dirt around with a stick. I bet you anything that China will end much like the USSR did its already started they have a dual country on there hands 700 mill are poor sods while 300 mill live like its 1987 in New York. Its only a matter of time tell the 700 mill want levis too.
