Greetings all!

I am currently thinking of buying one of the following 3 laptops, intended for gaming (titles such as Assassin's Creed IV:Black Flag, Arkham Origins, etc.)
and other minor activities such as browsing, etc.

Keeping battery life, performance & stability in mind, which of these should I choose?

HP Pavilion 15-n012TX
---------------------
4th Gen i5 (4200U)
1.6 to 2.6GHz Speed / 3MB Cache
4GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M (2GB/DDR3)
1TB Disk Space
15.6" Display

Toshiba Satellite L850 Satellite L850-Y5310
--------------------------------------------
3rd Gen i7 (3610QM)
2.3 to 3.3GHz Speed / 6MB Cache
8GB DDR3 RAM
AMD ATI 7610M (2GB/DDR3)
750GB Disk Space
15.6" Display

HP Pavilion m4-1003tx (Notebook)
----------------------------------
3rd Gen i5 (3230M)
2.6 to 3.2GHz Speed / 3MB Cache
8GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 730M (2GB/DDR3)
1TB Disk Space
14" Display

Thank you :)

Country : India
My budget is Rs.50,000/- (That's around $800)

Any other solution is also welcome :)

I HAVE considered building a PC, however I'm not too experienced on the subject..
In case I do build a PC, is it possible to get a better config. than any of the above mentioned laptops, within the specified budget ?

(Sorry for being a n00b :p)

If you won't move at all and use it as desktop-replacement the go with a desktop, you will of course need to buy OS, a monitor, mouse and keyboard

Do you have some preferable websites that offer hardware components?

Neat! Portability isn't that much of a factor for me, so I think I'll build my own PC then..

Thanks a LOT Devon, for taking the trouble to provide with all those flipkart links :)

I already own several win 7, 8 licences, so I can spend a little more on the CPU & the GPU..

Will these be good enough? :

GPU: http://www.flipkart.com/zotac-nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-amp-2-gb-gddr5-graphics-card/p/itmddu7gpvfyrqvk?pid=GRCDDU7GNFJEJF9K&otracker=from-search&srno=t_2&query=nvidia+gtx&ref=2ffccbfb-8c17-424e-8593-7d373c36b088 Rs. 11,000

CPU: http://www.flipkart.com/intel-3-ghz-lga1150-core-i5-4430-6m-cache-up-3-20-ghz-processor/p/itmdhtnujdfgwwrn?pid=PSRDHTNMZAG8ZMJF&ref=96aa8f3b-4f87-4a8b-81dc-cf0ec8375aed ~= Rs.13,000

That along with a good display, plus a little tinkering (using the rig you specified above as a base model) and I think I'll have myself, a decent enough gaming laptop.

I also found this thread to be useful : http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/355046-31-guide-choosing-computer-parts

M-ITX config

CPU - Pentium G1610

GPU - Radeon 7950

PSU - 450 W

Motherboard - Gigabyte

Storage - 1TB WD

Memory - 8GB 1600MHz (in dual channel)

[][]

Case - CM Elite 120.

OS: Ubuntu

Sum: 51 492

The cpu has to be upgraded later but you have a strong gpu.

Ubuntu can be as OS and WineHQ will make it possible to use windows software.

You could take a 4GB ram. I tried to find a Tahiti LE gpu which is solid and cheaper than 7950.

I will make a second alternative with a m-ATX/ATX motherboard and case

and you dont need to upgrade the video card since the one i posted in my link before is a factory overclocked video card soo you are getting the best out of the GTX 650 (non ti) cards soo the extra 2000 RS can just be used to change the motherboard and cpu for less of a cost wise but higher performance and you still have 2 channels of ram you can add at a later date

Fine then.. I think this solves my problem!! I've found Devon's solution to be the best, however Valentin_N also gave a great config (Considering additional cost of the monitor, it's a little too costly)..

A big THANK YOU to the both of you :D
