Who cares lol, its your music you shud be able to access it easily and anywhere without the need for software like with creative mp3s. All Mp3s should be drag and drop anyway, if your not using it for buying songs itunes is completely useless.

What's to stop the convenient, illegal spreading and sharing of music collections using this $50 device?
Uh, I don't own and iPod so this may sound dumb, but

a) if the file has DRM, the DRM stops the illegal sharing (it won't run on another device without a proper license file, right?)

b) if the file is one of the DRM-free versions Apple has been selling, what's stopping anyone right this very second from copying it? (and if the answer is that iPod/iTunes won't let you, that my friends, is DRM).

That said, the guy really should just put 40gB of iPod-formatted porn on his iPod, and shell out $50+ for a USB hardrive enclosure.

LOL at the ipod being so screwed up that you have to 'rip' your songs off of it! you know how I rip the songs off my mp3 player? I plug it into my computer, open explorer and copy the folder! using the excess space is equally as easy!

it sucks that people are going to pay money for this device that should never have needed to exist in the first place!

But those unfortunate who bought Ipods and Iphone need it though.

[citation][nom]Shadow703793[/nom]That made me laugh. EVERY DRM/Copy protection method has been cracked or will be cracked.[/citation]
You missed my point. The article says this device allows copying of the files which can then lead to pirated copies. I'm saying copying the file doesn't mean much if the DRM is still intact.

OBVIOUSLY you can crack the DRM, I'm just saying this particular device doesn't lead to additional pirating of DRM-protected songs.
