Cmos failure

Gateway MS2285 will not boot, the screen will not come on. Computer will start up but nothing happens. I replaced the Cmos battery and does the same thing. Can not hear the Hard disk working but can hear the system running. Whats the score here?

well for laptop troubleshooting try plugging in external display and turn on the laptop. if you dont any video signal on the external monitor it means your video card is faulty and you will most likely have to get the whole motherboard replaced as in laptop the parts are integrated into each other to save space. if you do get signal on the external monitor it means that your internal display needs to be replaced and your video card is fine
