College Engineering Laptop

Ive been looking for a laptop to take with me to college. I am an engineering student and will be running many demanding programs such as autocad. i have been taking interest in a macbook pro but i fear that some programs that i will be using will not work with the mac. Do yall think i will be ok running on a mac? if not what laptops do yall recommend?

I'd suggest to go with Microsoft OS... as for what laptop will entirely depend on your budget, aim at least for 8GB of RAM and a Quad Core CPU.

what's your budget and i'm assuming this is america? seems like if you can afford it, you're going to need a workstation.
