I have been looking at laptops for a while now and I am going to college soon and need to make a choice. I know a ton about desktops. I have built them and I have one myself. However, despite what most people tell me, I want a laptop to start in college. I know I could build a machine for 1/2 the price of a laptop and have better power and graphics for gaming. But, I want to be able to take it to class with me and bring it everywhere I go. I've been fighting myself over these three specifically. I will be using much of the CPU power with photoshop and premier. However, I do play some small title games and some pretty demanding ones. For me, I do not carry about the weight of a laptop. I do kind of care about thickness but it isn't that important.
1. The Dell XPS 15 9560 ($1749)(with the gtx1050)http/
2. MSI GT62VR Dominator Pro-239 ($1699) http/
3. Asus Rog Strix GL502VS($1686)http/
While I think the Dell XPS is definitely the closest thing to a college laptop. The MSI and ASUS are cheaper while rocking the Pascal gtx1070. So I guess my question is, what is the best for me if I will be doing things like photoshop and premier while taking my laptop to class with me for notes and etc. while gaming easier and harder titles in my dorm? Also, if anyone has a better recommendation under $1900 that works too. Thanks! BTW my double major is in computer engineering and computer science so anyone with experience should help me out!
