I really need help deciding what laptop to buy as I’m going to college with it, but I still want to game lots, I’ve been looking for the best deals and this is what I’ve come up with, if there are any suggestions that you have, all advice is appreciated. My budget is sub $1000 trying to keep it on the low end, the only things I don’t like about the acer compared to the dell is that the battery is smaller/shorter, thermal issues have been abroad since the acer has a full 1060 6g unlike the Dell’s Max Q version. The reason I like the dell is for the easy accessibility to components through the bottom and it runs cool and long. Thoughts?

i used to own the 7577 and the predecessor 7567.honestly if u are looking for longer battery life the dell hands down is the one to go.however i return my 7577 due to issue with cpu power limit throttle.the cpu will not turbo boost and wont even stay at it base clock speed once the gpu is being use as well for example in gaming.(this happen on my 7567 as well).i thought they fix this issue but its still there.so i returned it and get the helios instead.runs cooler to my surprise and perform much better than the dell although as u already know the battery life sucksssssss.also the 7577 is much more sturdier in built.i ran across a video that should help you decide.

I really appreciate your input, and this helps me out tremendously as I have been on the fence the entire time, as far as build quality what parts of the Acer feels cheap? Also how short have you felt the battery is and have you tried using the integrated gpu and seen the performance on normal tasks? Again super thankful for your time and giving me how you feel about these two devices!

the acer does not feel cheap actually.its just that the dell feels better.the acer body is brush aluminium compare to the dell matte body.the battery can last u atleast 3.5-4hours on the acer depends on the brightness and power plan.normal task like media consumption, flash games is nothing the igpu cant handle.both actually perform quite well on normal daily task.also additional info the predator comes with predator sense software so u can adjust fan speed and overclock the gpu.but make sure to get the g3-572 model as it comes with the new aeroblade steel fan and not the plastic one in the 571 model.

The steel fan version is $200 more than the 571, does it come with anything else or just the steel bladed fan because that is very hard to justify for the price.

the difference that u will notice is temperature and the ability to oc the gpu as the 571 does not offer that option in its predator sense.
