colored shapes randomly showing up

I have a Canon EOS Rebel. Recently when I'm taking pictures gold, green & red hexagon shapes show up randomly in the pictures. Can anyone help to let me know how to fix this? Thanks.

Hmm... if you could upload an example image, it would be easier to help you.
My first thought was that you could be experiencing lens flaring, but that would not be affected by the age of the camera. If you are not familiar with lens flares, maybe look up some examples to compare with what you are having.
