[citation][nom]Belardo[/nom]Yeah... thats because its more difficult to transport your 360... need to disconnect the wireless networking, carry the huge brick, etc, etc.PS3 is small and light enough and easier to transport.[/citation]

uh.. hello.. why would i even have to transport the whole 360 when there's already one connected at the location i'm going to?

You guys should stop cryin. This is a good article. Its for the Uber console nerds that love to have aesthetically pleasing hardware. Thats why the majority of us buy good lookin cases and other $it, because we love it. Oooooosss and aaaaaahhhhhhhhs

If they were to coat it in gold (real gold) at that price, I will. Otherwise, it's only for those who have too much money and do not have a place to spend.

What they PROBABLY do is swap the case not the hard drive. No professional painter would paint a case that isn't 100% sealed with the hardware still inside. Most wouldn't even do it if the case WAS 100% sealed. They take your case off and swap in "prepainted" or "painted while you ship your PS3" case parts from previous customers. You keep all your original hardware and get a cool paint job quickly.

I'm thinking about doing some painting myself once my warranty and black tie (yeah I got suckered) is up in 3 years.

What you can get your ps3 in any color you want straight from sony as long as it's black

I have modified my own consoles since the days of the PlayStation. I custom painted my Dreamcast in a slick two-toned Candy Blue. I also installed blue LED's into my original PlayStation long before anyone started doing that with their Xboxes. I'm planning to buy a PS3 Slim for my daughter and paint that as well. It is a lot cheaper than what they're asking for, but not for the unexperienced.

i have bought a colored ipod from colorware way back before the mini's *gen 2* and what they do is either match the warranty you have through the company *360, ps3, apple, etc* and will replace it for you, or they do the painting in a way that does not void the warranty at all... that simple...

This is totally ninja.

There is zero chance of getting the finish these guys can with "a can of spray paint" unless you have extremely trained hands. But feel free to prove me wrong by making your console look like a$$!

Would have been nice to see a direct link to the company site in the article.
