so, just to try to "evade" the bad reputation the name "comcast" has..
they just change the name insteatd of fixing their problems? WOW GENIOUS!

Hate hate hate hate the cable monopolies. They need to be run like utilities are. Either it's city owned and run, or the lines are owned as a group and I can choose between providers. As it is I can only choose between ATT and Comcast, and that's not really a choice as they provide very different services.

Well not a fan of ATT and Comcast, as its the only choices I have as well. But Comcast is much faster than ATT DSL offerings, so for me, its a easy choice.

Obviously the name needs work, but you gotta give Comcast a little credit for trying to make some improvement. Albeit, very little, and not in the area where they need it the most-service.

As a naming firm, we conducted a nationwide survey yesterday of over 500 consumers to see what they think of the new name. Not surprisingly, 70% of consumers don't like the name and think it can be better used elsewhere like on condoms or porn sites.

I've had comcast in various places. While I've had a few problems none that were huge, and none that where unexpected. I don't see what the gripe is with comcast so much other then the used to be hidden 200gb cap. But that's pretty well known now..

At least Comcast is actually increasing their service speed. I am at 50mbps right now with Comcast, which speed tests at 62mbps. Before this I was using 6mbps ATT dsl, which speed tested at 4mbps.

So while they may not be the best company, at least they are improving their products. Unlike ATT which has sat at the same dsl speed for half a decade out here.

Xfinity ftw.

The name change seems like an excuse to charge customers more money for nothing. If promising to keep the same Comcast services but just changing the name to Xfinity, why bother? Comcast has a lot of issues regarding customer service, that’s ultimately why I discontinued the TV service from them. I can understand re-branding and the marketing gimmick, but they will always be just plain old Comcast to me. At DISH Network we haven’t changed our name and still have lower prices on our programming than Comcast. As a DISH Network customer and employee I switched from Comcast to DISH, and have never been happier with my pay TV service.
