Community opinions of bare-bone laptops? Example included.

I have provided the link below. Can anyone enlighten me about bare-bone laptops? I know a fair bit about laptops in general but don't know about these types.

This one seems to come with all the parts? Or am I misreading?

I don't see any OS, so I think this is what makes it barebones. You will need to load your own copy of Windows to the laptop to get it working.

I was planning on just buying a 1080p screen to replace the 1600x900 screen if I didn't like it. Anyone else have advice? If the OS is all that is missing, I will pull the trigger. I get free OS from my university.

I would not count on replacing the LCD on a notebook. Better to choose the one you want up front.
