Solved! Compaq armada 1750 Windows 98

In result of an attempt to install a font software, the laptop is no longer useable. It will not go into windows or safe mode. When booting up the message error loading explorer.exe. Then you must reinstall windows. I prefer not to loose my information. Does anyone have any ideas?

Look into purchasing a hard drive enclosure for your hard drive, hook it up to another computer, use hard disk recovery software ($30-$50 usually), copy over all your important files to a CD or USB drive.

Put the hard drive back into your laptop, insert a windows CD, reformat and reinstall, install your drivers, copy over your old files...

It will double as a great learning experience, and remember to always backup your important stuff!
