Compaq CQ56 takes forever to boot

So i want to help my friend get his lap to work, but it takes forever to boot, i turn the laptop on and then it says Press ESC to startup, i press ESC and then it takes about 8 minutes to get me to the windows screen or anything even the BIOS menu, i actually made a format to the HDD and clean installed windows but still takes forever to boot, its a hardware problem? The lap work as intended passed the Boot screen

Hi,

Most common reason of slow boot up specially if it's also slow in BIOS is either HDD problem or RAM. If the laptop is working fine after it loads to the desktop please do update BIOS if there's an available update from the manufacturer support site. Also do try to reseat the HDD and RAM making sure that they are both seated properly into their respective slots.
