hello fellow techies:i have recently bought a 16gb ddr3 1867 mhz cl9 set of corsair vengenace laptop ram. my issue is my computer keeps doing blue screen of deaths when both sticks are active in the machine, 1 of either stick computer runs no problem but throw both sticks in and its a hay day. i have tested each stick of ram using memtest86 individually and no errors over the course of 4 hours, yet when both sticks are in there seems to be one bit that is common between all errors. i have tested this ram on another notebook with memtest86 with both sticks in over 8 hours and no errors, the ram i had in there before is ddr3 1600mhz 8gb.

my laptop brand is an hp envy m6-1158ca
specs core i7-3632qm processor
16 gb ddr3 corsair vengeance laptop low voltage ram
64gb kingston v300 ssd and a 1tb seagate 5400 rpm hardrive
ati radeon 7670m thales video card/intel 4000hd graphics

i have supplied the links on the following lines

the laptop runs with both sticks in but it does bluescreen sometimes 20 times a day sometimes only once, as for bios my bios is locked so would you consider unlockinging it or buying a new set of ram at 1600?

no i never checked to see if compatibility would be an issue only because i have never had an issue before, i bought higher ram in hopes that it would accept the faster speeds but worst case scenario thought it would clock it down to 1600 if it didnt like it. the biggest difference though is this new ram is low voltage 1.35 vs the 1.5 i had in there before, but based on research this shouldnt be a major problem.

The new RAM could very well be loading the memory controller down too much with 2 sticks installed. Always check the compatibility lists before buying RAM, especially for laptops, it could prevent expensive mistakes down the road. As I said laptops can be extremely picky about the RAM they will accept.

Here's a link to some Crucial RAM that's listed as compatible: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP---Compaq/envy-m6-1158ca

I haven't found anything stating that the Corsair memory is compatible with the Envy.
