Was wondering if it is possible to get 5.1 sound from my sonos setup thats currently connected via optical cable to my TV using my computer. (Usually watch movies of the computer) But in playback devices>Configure, all I see is Stereo. Thanks

First you need to have a 5.1 Sonos set up. This is usually a Playbar or base, subwoofer and 2 Play speakers. You may also need a Sonos Boost.
Second check that the TV can output in 5.1. You may need to change the audio output type in the TV menu.
Third if you can't get the PC to see the 5.1 set up through the TV you may need to run an optical cable from the PC directly to the Sonos.

Thanks for your reply. I do have the play area, subwoofer and 2 play 1s. And I know my tv does output 5.1. my tv is quite far from the tv with a 30feet or so HDMI cable so I thought I'd find a way to output 5.1 through that. If not, I guess the optical cable is my only option. And maybe a optical switcher at the tv for my cable box as well?
