Computer Will not open executable jar files

When ever I double click a executable jar file command prompt opens for 1 second and closes and nothing happens. What should I do?

It doesnt work its a windows computer btw.

Install 7Zip. Start it. Open the jar file with it. If that doesnt work it is a corrupt file.
