Computer wont detect tv connected by HDMI cable

I have connected my computer to my TV but the computer wont detect the hdmi cable. My TV is 32 inch hd LG tv and my laptop is a packad bell Easynote TE11HC. Any advice?

First make sure your laptops resolution is set to one that is supported by the tv.
Did you press the Fn+Key combo to tell the laptop to begin using the external display?

It is usually the f4 button that helps choose to also display on a tv.

You can also change your screen settings by going to control panel and clicking appearance and personalization and then display and then screen resolution. Or right clicking your desktop screen and choosing personalize before display and screen resolution.
