Confused in Minnesota

I have a samsung plasma, with hdmi in & out/optical etc , just purchased a samsung fm45 soundboard sub package. I also have a DVD with a single HDMI and a satellite receiver from Direct TV which also has a single HDMI . the sound bar has HDMI I/O, and Optical. How can I get these to work. I don't think I have enough connections or am I making this harder than it really is

Connect soundbar to TV with optical cable,connect DVD to TV with HDMI cable to one of the HDMI inputs and connect satellite to TV with HDMI cable to a second HDMI input on the TV.
