I see that reading isn't your strong point m00fin. It clearly states on the house.gov committee listing for the energy and commerce commission that Waxman and Butterfield are both members. In fact Waxman's name is in REALLY big letters at the top of that page as a ranking member... So I guess Tom's copy and paste article was factually correct.

There is a difference between ranking member and committee chairman. Henry Waxman used to be the chairman, just like Nancy Pelosi used to be speaker.
