Connect a magna vox vcr/DVD player to a sharp smart tv

I'm trying to connect these two components and we get no picture all the cables are connected according to the color codes no picture on vcr or dvd

If the TV has a shared component - composite video input you may need to select the type of video output you used in the TV menu.
