hi everyone,

i recently bought a Samsung HDTV (t24e390ew), which i also wanted to use as an extra monitor for my laptop.(ASUS NJ750K).
When i bought it a month ago, everything worked smoothly and well.
I just changed the source and could switch through, tv, laptopscreen and Xbox.
Yesterday however my tv couldn't find any signal from my laptop. (my xbox works still fine)
My xbox works perfectly on both HDMI inputs and i tested it with 2 hdmi cables. (that means the tv's hdmi input and the hdmi cables work)
i didnt change anything of my laptops settings etc.
it's like the hdmi cable cannot connect to my laptop anymore.
i read something about modificating the hdmi cable with a sharp knife, because it doesnt fit all the wat into the laptops hdmi output, but i dont really kow how to do that.

any suggestions on how to fix my problem?
kind regards,

If the cable worked fine before, why would you need to modify it all of a sudden? You should not need to do anything to the cable or port. Is there another HDMI device you can connect the laptop to? Does it see a second display and it may just need to be enabled? If it really does feel like the cable does not fit the same way as it did, check to see if anything is blocking the port inside.
