connect bluray without smart tv

Must I have a smart tv in order to connect my bluray player? My Samsung big screen tv is 8 yrs old an is not a smart tv. It only hasn1 HDMI port .

You don't need a smart TV to use a Bluray player.

If you have at least one HDMI port (which you do) then you can use the Bluray player.

No only do you not need a smart TV to use the Bluray player most of them can add some smart functions to your old TV. Just get it on your network (wifi or wired depending).
