Hi, I want to connect my new Dell Inspiron 7000 15" to a 27" 4K Monitor like Samsung or Dell.

This Inspiron doesn´t come with Display Port, so can i have 4k on external Display? And the combination ATI/Intel HD cards can output a full desktop of 4k x 2 ( 4k on each display)? .

Thanks!,

Rob

Without a DisplayPort, your only option for 4K is HDMI, and you'll only get 30Hz because HDMI 2.0 laptop cards are relatively rare.

Solution
HDMI on Inspiron is 1.4a. The only limitation is 30Hz? Is not for display movies or Games, just dense windows of graphics and text.
Can a HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter solve the refresh to achieve 60Hz?

No, a display port adapter cant magically create double the frames per second.

A display port adapter will do nothing, just use the HDMI port and get your 30 hz

If you are desperate to make it work you have the option to spend on - Plugable USB 3.0 to DisplayPort 4K UHD, trending on Amazon @ CAD $ 90.

PS. Apology for the -1, pressed the down arrow and voted on that by mistake. cant seem to cancel it 🙁
