Connect my laptop to my TV

What lead would i require to connect my laptop running windows 7 to my digital tv i am wondering if a hdmi to hdmi lead would work

Yes. HDMI would be the best bet (assuming your laptop has an HDMI output). You just need to configure the HDMI output on your laptop to match the resolution of the HDTV (or something close that works).

How Would i do this

Once the HDTV is physically connected via the HDMI cable, you should be able to right-click on the laptop desktop and enter display configurations. From here you should be able to first enable the HDTV as a secondary display (either as a clone or extended display) and then find what resolution works for that display.
