connect older JVC to Samsung tv

help connecting JVC RX-715VTN receiver to Samsung UN60D6000SFXZA LCD TV.
Using composite splitter adapter (AV adapter ) to AV IN 2. Don't have component adapter to try AV1. Correct?

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here.
If your object is to get the audio from the TV into the receiver you will need to connect the TV optical audio output with a Toslink cable to an optical to analog converter. That will connect to any audio input on the receiver with a standard RCA stereo cable.
Connect all you sources directly to the TV.
You may have to turn the optical output on, turn the TV speakers off, and set the audio output to PCM stereo to get it working. Select the correct input and surround sound mode on the receiver. The receiver will be your volume control since the TV audio output is fixed level.
