Solved! Connected TV to PC with HDMI to USB cable nothing

I'm trying to watch my movies from PC to TV. I bought a cable that has HDMI one side and USB the other side as my PC has no female HDMI input?

Which end do you have connected to your PC? A cable like that is usually intended to provide an additional video port by connecting to the PC USB port.

You can't use a passive cable to do that. You need a active USB video adapter with HDMI output.

I put the USB part of the cable into my USB socket and the other end an HDMI input to my TV. Nothing. This PC is a Lenovo T430 Thinkpad with no HDMI sockets

We will need a link to the cable you have. Were there drivers that were included? Many times, for USB devices, you have to install drivers before connecting the device.
