I have a Comcast TV cable connection using a HD Xfinity Mod. PR150BNM desktop box that I want to connect to a Magnavox Mod. MDR557H/F7 VCR. Can anyone tell me how to connect? I had an old VCR that failed. I bought another and attempted to run the cable setup program but now my TV will only run on the VCR setting, not on PC or TV or HDMI or component -- only VCR. The VCR will not operate at all. Is there an order in which each must be set up, or other advice available, please?

Can't find a picture or description of what connections you box has but this should work.
1. Connect the HDMI output directly to your TV (for HD viewing).
2. Connect the Composite Video and audio outputs of the VCR to the TV (for playback of VCR which will not be HD).
2. Connect the RF output (set to either channel 3 or 4) of the cable box (with an RF cable) to the antenna input on the VCR. Set the VCR to channel 3 or 4. If the box has composite video audio outputs (yellow , red, white RCA jacks) you can use those and select line input on the VCR.
3. You will not be able to change channels on the box or watch one program while recording another (this would require another cable box just for the VCR). You can set the time the recording will start and stop but will have to set the cable box in advance to the channel you want to record..
