Connecting laptop to TV problem. PLEASE HELP!

I have connected my laptop with VGA connector to TV with HDMI connector with VGA to HDMI conventor (this is connector : http://www.lindy.co.uk/images/hdmi-to-vga-converter-p6787-3393_zoom.jpg) and my TV shows NO SIGNAL. I do not know what to do. I tried to change my graphic card options, display settings, resolution settings and FN key but nothing works. My laptop is Lenovo G580 B960. Please help me, I am desperate.....

I have connected my notebook to an HDTV with either the VGA or the HDMI, but not with a VGA to HDMI. This is likely the issue.

Your notebook has HDMI out, and I would get an HDMI cable to connect it to your HDTV.

My notebook do not have HDMI.

Does your TV have a VGA input? The ones I have do.

Hi, what you have is a HDMI to VGA adapter. The input for the adapter is the HDMI from the laptop and the output is the VGA to the TV. So, the other way around doesn't work.
